| Baxter Spann, Golf Course Architect: I would have to rate this as my personal favorite at Black Mesa, because of the many options it presents off of the tee. Depending on conditions, a player may elect to carry the large native mound in the middle of the fairway, or play around it to either side. The least favorable shot is the most comfortable one, a lay-up shot straight down the middle short of the mound, which will leave a blind second to the green. A long tee shot that is hit too far left, will likely find the largest bunker complex on the course. The green is as challenging as any at Black Mesa, with many twists, turns, and rolls. |
